Mitigation of power quality issues caused by motors starting on the power system can be one of the most difficult challenges faced by electric utility personnel. This presentation will discuss how to prepare a motor-starting analysis for various types of motor starters, the impact of various motor starters on the starting current and starting torque, and mitigation techniques.
