COURSE INFORMATION
Line Construction 1
This course is designed for employees at the apprentice level who have performed some rubber gloving from an aerial device on energized conductors. These students should have safely performed limited live line work from an aerial device with full supervision. Through this course, students gain extensive hands-on training and experience during training exercises with experienced craftsmen, who provide one-on-one training. After completing this course, students should be able to perform basic rubber-gloving techniques safely.
Each participant should bring
Hardhat - Handline - Rubber gloves - Multipurpose wrenches - Leather work gloves - Hand tools
Rubber sleeves - Skinning knife - Eye protection - Screwdrivers
Rain gear - Kleins - Proper footwear - Hammer - Long-sleeved shirts - Harness/Lanyard
Course Prerequisites
The participant should have experience as a groundman or be an apprentice lineman.
Course Schedule
Course begins at 1 p.m., Monday, October 26 and ends at noon, Friday, October 30.
Guest instructors’ meeting 1 p.m., October 26.

32 hours (3.20 CEUs) A South Plains College certificate will be mailed to participants who complete this course and pay the $10 fee.
Registration cancelation policy: All changes or cancelations must be made by email to tknipstein@texas-ec.org. No refunds will be issued for cancelations made fewer than 15 days before the event. Cancelations made more than 15 days before the event will receive a full refund, minus a $50 charge per student or substitution.
