        COURSE INFORMATION
Underground Troubleshooting and Fault Locating 
This course teaches how to safely and properly perform switching, grounding and fault-locating procedures, and locate cable routes in a safe manner. This class is designed for employees who are involved in the operation of an underground system. Through hands-on training exercises based on real-world situations, students learn the safest ways to troubleshoot, isolate and ground an underground electric installation. 
Each participant should bring 
Hardhat - Safety glasses - Long-sleeved shirts 
Safety-toe footwear - Work gloves - Hand tools 
Cable preparation tools - Rain gear 
Rubber gloves and sleeves 
Course Prerequisites 
The participant should have experience as a groundman or be an apprentice lineman. 
Course Schedule 
Course begins at 1 p.m., Monday, May 20 and ends at noon, Friday, May 24.

32 hours (3.20 CEUs) 
A South Plains College certificate will be mailed to participants who complete this course and pay the $10 fee. 
Registration cancelation policy: All changes or cancelations must be made by email to tknipstein@texas-ec.org. No refunds will be issued for cancelations made fewer than 15 days before the event. Cancelations made more than 15 days before the event will receive a full refund, minus a $50 charge per student or substitution.
