COURSE INFORMATION
Underground Cable and Equipment Installation
This course teaches how to properly install an underground system from the riser to the secondary installation. The class is designed for employees in the electric utility industry who install underground electric utilities. Students gain extensive hands-on experience during training exercises with experienced craftsmen, who provide one-on-one training. Students learn proper cable installation and preparation, and how to install single- and three-phase transformers, risers, secondary pedestals, elbows and splices.
Each participant should bring
Hardhat - Safety glasses - Long-sleeved shirts
Safety-toe footwear - Work gloves - Hand tools
Cable preparation tools - Rain gear
Rubber gloves and sleeves - Stripping tools
Course Prerequisites
The participant should have experience as a groundman or be an apprentice lineman.
Course Schedule
Course begins at 8 a.m., Tuesday, August 12 and ends at noon, Friday, August 15.

A South Plains College certificate will be mailed to participants who complete this course and pay the $10 fee.

Cancelations made more than 15 days before the event will receive a full refund, minus a $50 charge per student or substitution.
