COURSE INFORMATION
Course Description
This course covers the basics of electricity and teaches basic troubleshooting skills using case studies in a classroom setting. Students learn to:
• Identify and correct line service complaints;
• Identify errors associated with customer equipment and services;
• Identify and use personal protective equipment and cover up when working on energized equipment; and
• Identify and understand systematic switching procedures to isolate faulted energized equipment and services on overhead and underground systems.
Each participant should bring
Hardhat - Voltmeter - Safety glasses
Long-sleeved ARC-rated shirts - Rubber gloves - Hand tools
Course Prerequisites
The participant should have at least one year of the following: line crew construction, maintenance crew, serviceman or meter technician experience.
Course Schedule
Course begins at 8 a.m., Tuesday, October 8 and ends at noon, Friday, October 11.
